Ready-made tools

Software that already exists, fitted to your business in weeks.

Every one of these came out of a job we did for a working business, and every one does a single thing properly. You can have any of 3 of them now, from $3,900 to set up. Another 3 are ready when you ask. And there are 2 smaller things you can pay for tonight, from $390, without speaking to anybody.

No call needed

Two things you can buy tonight, without talking to anybody.

Everything else on this page starts with a conversation, because a package has to be fitted to the way you work. These two do not. You pay, we start, and you have something in your hands inside the week.

Before you spend anything

Fit check

$390

A written two-page plan within three working days: what you should build, roughly what it costs, what you should buy off the shelf instead, and whether you need us at all.

What a written scope looks like

What you get

  • Two written pages, back to you within three working days.
  • What we would build, and roughly what it would cost.
  • What you should buy off the shelf instead, where that is the honest answer.
  • Whether you need us at all, said plainly.
  • The whole $390 comes off any build you start with us within sixty days.

What it does not do

  • There is no call. You answer the questions in writing and the plan comes back in writing.
  • It is a plan, not the software. Nothing is built at this price.

$390 paid once. No monthly fee. Back to you in three working days.

A few questions first, so we know what we are looking at. Nothing is charged before you have the price in writing.

Something useful on your website

Enquiry tool

$750

One calculator, quiz or estimator on your own website that gives a visitor a real answer and collects their email while it does it.

A website that tells people what you do

What you get

  • One tool, on your own website, in your own colours.
  • A real answer for the visitor, not a form that promises one later.
  • Their name and email, sent to wherever you already read enquiries.
  • One round of changes after you have seen it working.

What it does not do

  • One tool. A second one is a second purchase.
  • It goes on the website you already have. Building you a website is a different job.
  • It collects the enquiry. It does not email the person back for you.

$750 paid once. No monthly fee. Back to you in about two weeks.

A few questions first, so we know what we are looking at. Nothing is charged before you have the price in writing.

Why the fit check exists

Most people who write to us are not sure whether they need software at all, and that hour is the most useful one we give away. Now it is written down instead, it is yours to keep, and the whole $390 comes off any build you start with us in the next sixty days. If the honest answer is that you should buy something off a shelf for forty dollars a month, that is what the two pages will say.

How a package is different

Most of it is already built, so most of the cost is already spent.

Something built from nothing takes months and is priced accordingly. These already exist, because each one was built for a working business before it was ever offered to anybody else. What you are paying for is having one fitted around the way you work, in your own words, on accounts opened in your own business name.

Weeks

Not months. The hard part exists and has been used on real work. Fitting it to you is a job with a known shape and a known end.

One job

Each one does a single thing properly rather than nine things adequately. If you need two, you can have two, and they will talk to each other.

Yours

It runs on accounts opened in your business name, from the first day. Stop paying us and it keeps running. There is nothing to pay to leave.

The tools

Every one of these is a screen you can look at before you spend anything.

What follows is the actual software, not a drawing of it. Every name, figure and date on these screens is invented, because a real customer's records are never shown to anybody.

Read the numbers in each one

Every package below names its own limits on purpose: how many trades, how many forms, how many courses, how many documents a month. A package with no limit in it is how a one-person studio ends up working for nothing, and how you end up with a bill you did not expect. Where you need more than the numbers say, the extra is priced on the card rather than discovered halfway through.

[ 01 ]  Three quotes, side by side

Bid sheet

Three suppliers quote the same job three different ways. This lines them up on the same rows, shows you what each one left out, and re-prices their bid as if they had included it — so the one that looks $4,000 cheaper stops looking cheaper.

Who buys it

Home builders, renovators, facilities and property managers, farms, and anyone who collects three prices before spending money.

What is included, and where it stops

  • Six trades to compare across, set up with your own names for them.
  • Ten comparison rows in each trade, which is enough for a full package of work.
  • Three people signed in.
  • Reading the numbers off a supplier PDF into a draft you check before it is saved, up to a hundred documents a month.
  • A written note of which bid is really cheapest and why.

If you need more than that

  • An extra trade to compare across$250
  • Reading a supplier PDF beyond the first hundred a monthCharged only on what you go over by.$0.80 a document

Those are the prices, written down now rather than worked out halfway through.

What it costs

$4,500

to set it up for your business

$290

a month, starting the day it goes live rather than the day you pay

We confirm what it will do for your business, and the price, in writing before anything is charged.

Adjusted total86,460.0082,790.00Lowest adjusted85,540.00

What actually differs

  • Springbank Structural did not price engineered beams, delivery and crane, or tall wall details. Priced like for like they are $2,750.00 above Wheatland Framing, not $9,190.00 below.
  • Wheatland Framing split the wall package into three lines — main floor, upper floor, garage. They are compared here on one row.
  • Bow Valley Truss is the only bid that includes a crane day. The other two quote delivery only.

Ask before you award

  • Springbank Structural — are engineered beams excluded, or supplied by others?
  • Springbank Structural — is delivery to Airdrie inside the wall package price?
  • Wheatland Framing — does the tall wall allowance cover the 18 ft great room?
  • Bow Valley Truss — what is the rate if a second crane day is needed?
Check before relying on thisTwo of the three bids expire before the framing start date of 14 Sep 2026. None of the three states a truss lead time.
A framing package, three ways. The figures are invented; the arithmetic is what runs on a builder's jobs.

What this does not do

  • It lines the bids up and re-prices them. Choosing who wins is still yours.
  • It does not contact your suppliers or chase them for a missing price.
  • It reads what is written in a quote. It cannot tell you a supplier is wrong about the work itself.
  • Reading a PDF gives you a draft beside the document it came from, and nothing is saved until you have checked the numbers. It is built and tested, and on the builder it came from every bid was still typed in by hand, so treat it as time saved rather than a step you can stop watching.

What to have ready

  • Three quotes for the same job, from the last year. Scans or photos are fine.
  • The trades you buy most often, in the words you use for them on site.
  • One job where the cheapest quote turned out not to be the cheapest.
  • Who reads the quotes today and who signs off the spend.

[ 02 ]  Paperwork away from the office

Site forms

Your crew fills the inspection in on their phone at the job. Every answer saves on the phone as they go, so a dead zone or a closed tab loses nothing, and the photos finish sending themselves when the bars come back. It lands in the office signed, dated, with the photos attached, and prints as a clean PDF.

Who buys it

Trades, transport yards, farms, utilities, safety consultancies, and anyone whose staff fill in paper on site.

What is included, and where it stops

  • Eight forms, built from the paper ones you use today.
  • As many crew as you like, at no extra cost per person.
  • Photos taken on one bar of signal, shrunk on the phone and sent when it comes back.
  • Every finished form prints as a clean PDF with the signature and the date on it.

If you need more than that

  • An extra form$250
  • A printed day packCover sheet, a route card in walking order, one sheet per person to interview, and a photo log. Paid once.$450

Saved on this phone. The 3 photos finish sending on their own. Press send when you have signal.
Twenty-four forms on one engine. Adding your twenty-fifth is a short job, not a project.

What this does not do

  • You tell us the questions and we build the form. Building a brand new form from scratch is not yet something you can do without us.
  • It does not schedule who fills what in, and it does not chase them.
  • The answers and the photos survive with no signal, but sending the finished form still needs a connection. Your crew press send when they are back in range, and nothing they typed is lost in the meantime.

What to have ready

  • The paper forms you use now. Photographs of them are enough.
  • Which eight matter most, if you have more than eight.
  • Who fills each one in, and who reads it afterwards.
  • One hour of somebody who actually fills them in, not only the office.

[ 03 ]  Training, and proof of it

Staff training

Assign a course, your staff work through it on a phone, they pick up where they stopped, and it only counts as done when they pass the quiz. Then you can print proof for an insurer that a named person did it on a named date.

Who buys it

Trades, retail groups, transport firms, care providers, and safety consultancies who resell training.

What is included, and where it stops

  • Five courses built with you from whatever you train on today.
  • As many staff as you like, at no extra cost per person.
  • A certificate with a name and a date on it, for every pass.
  • A reminder when somebody is coming up for doing it again.
  • A download an auditor will accept, showing who did what and when.

If you need more than that

  • An extra course built for you$850
  • A course drafted out of your own handbook$450

Reminder dates are set from the renewal date — 90, 60, 30, 14 and 7 days before, and one the day after.
One row per person per course, in the format an insurer or an auditor asks for.

What this does not do

  • Renewal reminders are built, but they are not yet sent on their own to a timer. Somebody still sends them.
  • The courses are yours and ours together. We do not resell a course library built by anybody else.

What to have ready

  • Whatever you train people on today, even if it is a folder of handouts.
  • The list of your staff and what each of them does.
  • How often each course has to be done again.
  • Who is allowed to sign off that somebody is trained.

Ready when you ask

Built and running, and taken on one at a time.

These are live in a working business today. They are not on a buy button because one person cannot fit several different tools to several different businesses in the same month, and pretending otherwise is how a promise gets broken. Ask, and we will tell you honestly when we could start.

[ 04 ]  Quotes and getting paid

Quote, sign, paid

You build a priced quote from your own service list and send a link. They read it, tick the extras, type their name to sign, and pay the deposit on the same page. The sale posts into your bookkeeping by itself.

Who buys it

Consultants, trades, small agencies, and anyone whose quotes go out as a PDF and come back as silence.

What is included, and where it stops

  • One quote layout, built from the one you send out today.
  • Your own list of what you sell and what you charge for each of it.
  • The right provincial tax worked out for you.
  • A deposit now and the rest later, split however you want it.
  • They type their name to sign, and that signature is kept with the quote.
  • Card payment, into an account in your business name.
  • The sale posts into QuickBooks without anybody retyping it.

The extras tick on and off and the total moves with them. The line with no price yet reads 'to be confirmed', never $0.00. This is the buyer's own quote to their customer.

What this does not do

  • Card payments and bookkeeping run through accounts in your own business name. You open those; we connect them.
  • It does not chase an unsigned quote for you. It tells you which ones have gone quiet.
  • The quote itself works out the tax for any province. Posting the sale straight into QuickBooks is built and proven for five percent GST, so if you charge HST we price that connection separately rather than let a wrong figure into your books.

What to have ready

  • Your list of services and what you charge for each of them.
  • One quote you have sent recently, so we copy your wording rather than invent it.
  • The bookkeeping account you already use.
  • Whether you take a deposit today, and how much of one.

[ 05 ]  Things you have ordered in

What is included, and where it stops

  • Six stages, named the way your shop already talks about them.
  • Four rules for what counts as late, worked backwards from the date the customer needs it.
  • An email to the supplier when an order has gone past its date.
  • A purchase order you can print and hand over.

What this does not do

  • Purchase orders print. It cannot send an order to your supplier electronically.
  • It does not hold your stock levels. It tracks the things you have ordered in for a named customer.

What to have ready

  • The way you describe an order today, from taken to collected.

One link. No account, no password, and an honest way to say a document does not exist.

What this does not do

  • You cannot yet write your own list of what to ask for. We set that up with you and change it when you ask.
  • It collects and sorts. It does not read the documents and tell you what they mean.

What to have ready

  • The list you email people today, even if it lives in a sent message.
  • What you do when a client cannot find something.
  • How you name files once they arrive.
  • Who nags, today, and how long it takes them.

Every name, figure and date on these screens is invented. The layout is exactly what the software does.

Writing your marketing

The writing is real. Nothing leaves until a person says so.

We used to list this as a package, and the card implied the software went off and marketed for you on its own. It does not. Every piece waits for you to read it and approve it, and where it goes after that is a scheduling account you connect yourself, so the card has gone.

What it actually does

Nothing goes out on its own. You read and approve every piece before it can leave. An approved email arrives in your own mail tool as a draft for you to send, and an approved post only goes anywhere if you have connected a scheduling account of your own. With nothing connected, you copy it and post it yourself.

  • It writes a month of posts in your own voice, out of things you have already published.
  • Every figure and claim in a draft has to trace back to your brief or to what you have told it about the business. One that does not is flagged by name, and the draft is held out of the approved queue until you have dealt with it.
  • You set a list of things it is not allowed to say, and that list is enforced in the software rather than left to the writing to remember.
  • The finished cards are drawn in your own colours, with the words set as real text rather than generated as a picture, so nothing is misspelled at volume.
  • You read and approve every word before anybody else does.

It is no longer sold on its own. It sits inside a build made for your business, where it can read your own documents rather than a folder of pasted text. See what a build made for you involves.

drafting — Fieldstone Safety Consulting

Drafted post

Three things an assessor looks for in your inspection records, and none of them is how many inspections you did. First: does every finding have a name against it? Second: does it have a date it was closed? Third: can you show the one that was not closed, and say why? A binder full of clean inspections with no closed findings scores worse than a thin binder with a story.

From your article “What we look for in inspection records”, published 14 Jul 2026.

31

open inspection findings with no closure date

Text on a card is drawn as text, so it is never misspelled

What was checked

  • Every figure traces to the source article. 3 of 3 checked.
  • Removed: “cuts your insurance premium by 30%” — the source article does not say this.
  • Removed: “game-changing” — on your do-not-say list.
  • ~ Brand check: colours and typeface read from your website. High confidence on colour, medium on typeface.
Nothing leaves this screen until you approve it. With nothing connected, you copy the finished post and post it yourself.
The check that stops a rewrite inventing a statistic or a price the original never claimed.

What happens next

From the day you say yes to the day it is doing the job.

Nothing is a surprise, and nothing is charged before you have the price and what is included in writing.

[ 01 ]

A short call

Thirty minutes, free, within a few days. You talk, we listen, and we tell you plainly if this is not the right tool for you.

[ 02 ]

It in writing

A short document naming exactly what will be set up, what it will cost, what the limits are, and what is not in it. Nothing starts until you have read that and said yes.

[ 03 ]

We fit it to you

Two to four weeks, depending which one. Your wording, your forms, your service list, your logo, on accounts opened in your own business name.

[ 04 ]

It goes live

We sit with you while you use it on real work, you sign it off, and the monthly starts from that day. Not before.

What we need from you

Your logo in the best quality you have, the paper or the file you use for the job today, and an hour of whoever actually does that job. One more thing worth saying out loud: tell us at the start who is allowed to say yes. A second approver discovered after the price is agreed is the most expensive kind of surprise there is.

The monthly fee

What you are actually paying for after it goes live.

It stays online, it stays patched, it gets backed up, and when something is wrong you tell us from the screen you are standing on.
  • Whoever finds the problem presses the button, circles what is wrong with a finger, and sends it.
  • The page name comes with it, so nobody has to explain which screen they meant.
  • Small things tend to be fixed by the next morning. Anything that stops you trading is a phone call.
  • One small change a month is included. Bigger ones are priced before they are built.

You can stop the monthly any month with thirty days notice. The software carries on working. You simply stop getting changes and support from us. The larger monthly tiers are on the pricing page.

Before you say yes

The things people ask us.

Do I own it?

Yes, from the first day rather than handed over at the end. It is kept in a private locker you hold the keys to, and it runs on accounts opened in your business name. If you ever want to take it to somebody else, you take it, and there is nothing to pay to leave.

Can I start with something smaller?

That is exactly what the fit check is for. $390, two written pages back inside three working days, and the whole amount comes off any build you start with us in the next sixty days. It is the cheapest way to find out whether any of this is worth your money.

Can I pay by cheque or e-transfer?

Yes. Ask for an invoice and we will send one. The card button is there because some people would rather not wait for a phone call, not because it is the only way in.

What happens if I go over the limits?

Nothing stops working and nothing is switched off. The extra is on the card, at the price written there, and we tell you before it is charged. That is the reason the limits are printed at all.

My business does it differently.

Most do, and most of that is wording, which is what the setting-up is for. If the difference is bigger than wording, we will say so on the call rather than after you have paid, and price a build made for you instead.

Who am I actually dealing with?

One person, start to finish. The person who takes your call is the person who sets it up and the person who answers when something breaks. There is nobody here to hand you on to. More about that.

6 tools and 2 smaller things, and none of them stops you having something built from nothing later. See what a build made for you involves or look at the four businesses we have built for.

Still deciding

Tell us what is going wrong and we will tell you which one fits.

Describe the part of your week that is worst. What you do twice, what you keep in your head, what you dread. Working out what should be built from that is the job, and it is the part we are good at.

We reply within two business days. If it is easier, email hello@runsolostack.com.
